Picking Paint

If you have ever gone through a renovation you may know how it feels when it’s finally reached the point where a room has come together enough for paint to be applied. It’s certainly exciting and perhaps a little anxiety filled.

Enter our new guest room.
I pinned pins. Pulled tear sheets and convinced the feller that a soft purple color would be great. This room has such wonderful light and the color would be just perfect…

Perhaps not exactly the color we wanted. Perhaps not exactly the color we wanted.

Well… perhaps not the first version. The color swatch looked great. The wall swatch looked great. It was difficult to see it at night as we had no proper lights in yet…

The outcome? ***sigh*** it look like a teen age girls room and all too pink to boot.

More swatches... More swatches…

More swatches and finally, the second version, Lilac, came out beautifully! Even the cat loves it! Floors are done too!

Finished! Wall colors, floors… voila! Ready for company if you can excuse the mess of the renovation! Finished! Wall colors, floors… voila! Ready for company if you can excuse the mess of the renovation!

Now to select fabrics for curtains and some day a lovely quilt!

Back to the renovation!
