You spend all morning making the most beautiful Angel Food Cake or Sponge Cake. Your guests arrive and enjoy a fabulous dinner that you slaved away over all afternoon. You present the cake and grab a knife. Smoosh. The cake squishes down to nothing as you attempt to slice into it. What to do? If caught in a pinch, you can use a serrated knife, gently sawing in one direction, I would pull towards myself, cutting a little at a time, wiping your knife off between slices.
Get yourself an Angel Food Cake Cutter!
It works with all types of cake! They aren’t very expensive and they’ll save your cake. Simply use the comb-like cutter and make a few cuts, side-by-side, into the cake. You’ll be serving light and fluffy slices to your guests in no time! I love my vintage cutter with it’s bakelite handle.
